About Me
Hi, I’m Safwaanah.
I am an Educational Psychologist working in both private practice and part-time at a school. I also hold a sessional position at the University of the Witwatersrand, where I provide clinical supervision to Master’s students in Educational Psychology.
I am currently completing the final year of my PhD, which focuses on the health effects of video gaming in adolescents. My clinical interests include child-parent psychotherapy and psycho-educational assessments. I am passionate about the early identification and intervention of learning, emotional, social, and mental health challenges in children and adolescents.
My Approach
I have a particular interest in psychoeducation for children and parents, specifically in the areas of self-esteem, boundary setting, and emotional self-regulation. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and a commitment to supporting children and families in achieving positive developmental outcomes.
