About Me
Why I became a psychologist?
Hi, I’m Deepesh Dayal, a Counselling Psychologist. My career was initially in the education field, and from the start of my professional career, I have always been an active community volunteer, across a range of different community projects. This ignited a deep interest in helping people, and pursuing a new path, to become a practising counselling psychologist.
What Makes Me Different?
My belief is that diversity and intersectionality are integral parts of one’s life journey, and I conduct therapy in a way that acknowledges different backgrounds and experiences. I aim to provide a meaningful therapeutic experience, which seeks to allow you to feel empowered in your capacity to become self-aware, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change. At times, it is normal for us all to reach out for help, and I acknowledge that deciding to start therapy is a significant decision.
Training
I have trained in an interdisciplinary way, with practical experience in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the humanistic approach, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), as well as in working with sexually and gender-diverse people. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, with a focus on individual, couples and group therapy, involving a range of different life experiences.
